About the Founder

A teacher guiding a young girl in learning to write, both focused on a worksheet with words about reading, writing, and learning, in a classroom setting.

Hi, I'm Nicole, founder of Reading Through Barriers.

As an educator and behavior specialist, I have spent years helping children develop the skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. Through my work supporting students with diverse learning needs, I have seen firsthand how the right tools, guidance, and encouragement can help children build confidence, overcome challenges, and reach their full potential.

I created Reading Through Barriers with a simple mission: to equip parents, caregivers, educators, and homeschool families with accessible, engaging resources that support children's growth and learning. From literacy skills and financial literacy to practical life skills, my goal is to provide tools that make it easier for adults to teach, support, and connect with the children in their lives.

I believe learning happens both at school and at home. That's why I strive to create resources that are not only educational for children, but also easy for families to implement with confidence. Whether you're helping your child learn to read, develop healthy money habits, build independence, or navigate everyday challenges, Reading Through Barriers is here to support you every step of the way.

My hope is that these resources help families create meaningful learning experiences that inspire confidence, curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
